Last Resort - Ready or Not
Last Resort is a map project I made as an entry for the official Ready or Not mapping contest 2.0.
The rule of this contest is to create a map directly based on an existing map, either past or present, from the game:

Ready or Not is a tactical solo/co-op FPS where players act as a SWAT unit in the city of Los Sueños (a city heavily inspired by Los Angeles). Each mission sends the player and their team to different locations with the aim of saving civilians and neutralizing any threats in a variety of environments, such as a gas station, a penthouse, a nightclub, or, more recently, an oil platform at sea.
During the early access phase of the game, some maps never made it to the official release in 1.0.
In my case, Last Resort is a remake of one of these maps: the originally named mission "Fast Food".
Here’s a video showcasing one of the earliest versions of the original map:

The map was playable in a blockout state but was later removed during development.
I created Last Resort from scratch, using pictures and videos from the early version as references to rebuild it, while also adding my own touch to the theme and atmosphere of the map.
One week after the map release, i've published the first patch 1.0.1 intented to improve performances in some area, add a few more visuals details around the map & fix issues related to volumetrics fog with gas grenade and rare crashes.

Gameplay video of the map made by community members (@OfficialInvictus, @Readyorish, @TheNighthawk447) :

The map takes place at a Mexican fast-food restaurant near a highway outside of Los Sueños. A group of bank robbers tried to escape from the police and ended up taking hostages inside the restaurant while trying to find a way out. The player and their team are sent to neutralize all armed threats and rescue the civilians inside and around the building.

The map is a small-scale mission (comparable to some of the first missions in the main game, such as the Gas Station or the Streamer mission) featuring only a handful of enemies and civilians, with no timed objectives. This makes it a great warm-up for players before tackling larger missions.
Both the building and the parking lot outside are fully explorable, with multiple entry points available for the team to plan their approach.

The first iteration of the level was created as a blockout to ensure the dimensions were correct and to familiarize myself with the mapping process of the game. The map-building workflow relies on an impressive community-made framework for Unreal Engine 5.3, I also used some assets pack from the FAB marketplace as well as the assets extracted from the game with Fmodel.
The map is fully adapted to the game, featuring systems specifically designed for it, such as QSM (for sound and its reflections), NPC navigation, functional doors, detailed objective notes, a mission map, a loading screen, and more.
The mission also includes randomized elements to enhance replayability, with varied NPC spawns and dynamic door states.
here are some more screenshots of the mission, including my first blockout iteration of the map:

Finally, here are some of the promotional images created for the mod.io and NexusMods pages of the map, along with the a aerial drone view used as in-game map and a fire escape plan as an in-game document.
